How Jute Mats Work
Jute mats are laid directly over bare soil which needs to be protected against erosion from rain, wind, and foot traffic. Their enclosed weave deflect sunlight to pass through, eliminating weed growth. After installation, spray water heavily on to the matting to make it conform well to the land.
The organic jute fibers slows down the heavy water flow during rain and let it pass through smoothly into the soil without washing away. This hold mulch and fertilizer in placel without being washed away. As time passes, they decomposes naturally, further enriching the land.
